Pemerkasaan Profesionalisme Guru Pendidikan Islam Abad ke-21 dalam Dunia Islam (The 21st Century Islamic Education Teachers’ Professionalism Empowerment in the Islamic World)

Abstract

Islamic Education Teachers are important figures among the teachers in school not only because they play an important role to guide the students, but also to become a person consulted by the regular teachers, upper management and lower level staff in school. In fact, the locals where they live-either permanently or temporarily- also refers to the Islamic Education Teachers as center of reference. This fact is an important reflection of the characteristics of Islamic Education Teachers’ professionalism that is appropriate in the Islamic world especially in the 21st century now. This paperwork attempts to discuss Islamic Education Teachers’ professionalism in the 21st century by making a comparison between the basic needs and additional values required in today’s Islamic Education Teachers’ professionalism. The findings show that there are several key areas of Islamic Education Teachers’ professionalism characteristics today, namely in teaching and learning, personality, knowledge and knowledge application, self-motivation, and skills.
