Abstract
The purpose of this project is to simulate the transportation process of precast component from the suppliers (vendors) to the construction sites, in order to determine the risks effect on the transportation process time. The risks could be arise from different sources such as the traffic jam, breakdowns and accidents, also we consider the risk of unavailability of parts from the suppliers, all these risks will cause a delay and increase the time of completing the transportation process. Subsequently will effects on the project completion period. This study aimed to come with a risk management plan for construction supply chain to minimize the risks; the required data had been collected by sending a questionnaire to the selected case study. The simulation model built by using witness 2004 software, to simulate the current state of the project supply chain and come with improvement for future state. The expecting results of optimization are minimizing the transportation time by controlling the risks effect on the process. The analysis of the research results can be used to indicate improving needs for the supply chain systems for construction project operations.
