Abstract

Entrepreneurship is an area which is making progress in line with government's call that gave impetus to many Malaysians to be entrepreneurs as a first choicecareer. The study was conducted to determine whether the students in the area of vocational at the Community College (CC) have the intention to become entrepreneur upon graduation. The study focuses on the final year undergraduates in the area of vocational from CC in the south region of Malaysia. The CC chosen were Community College Bandar Penawar (CCBP) and Community College of Pasir Gudang (CCPG). The study conducted was based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour. The instrument used for the study was The Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaire (EIQ) developed by Linan, Urbano dan Guerrero (2007). Data were collected using a set of questionnaire.. Reliability of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach Alpha, where alpha value for each of the above a = 0.6. Data were analysedusing Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS ver.15) to obtain the frequency, mean and standard deviation. This study also analysesusing t-test and ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that the motivation factor and environmental factors influencing interest in entrepreneurship at a moderate level. While there are positive and significant relationship between exposure to courses in entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial experience and type of courses taken on entrepreneurial intention.. From the study, it was found that the vocational undergraduates as a whole have the intention toward entrepreneurship.
