Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the extent of mastery and understanding of Quran Class Skills teachers in the teaching of Qiraat focusing on its knowledge base and its branch. This survey data was collected from two respondents through an in-depth interviews and then it was triangulated through classroom observation data. All data used were verbatimed and analyzed to produce themes and subthemes. The result of the study showed that the teachers were able to master the subject content as well as the concept of the basic knowledge of Qiraat, Qiraat Imam cAsim dan Imam Hamzah. However there are some problems and concept in Qiraat knowledge that need to be strengthened. This study has produced a basic understanding of the concept of Model Teacher Qiraat (MAPKGQ) which would be a giudence to Quran Class Skill Teachers organized by the Minister of Education.
