Abstract
A generic procedure is presented for the determination of the moment capacity of a complex beam’s cross-section. The use of a general expression - possible due to the single-rule representation of the stress distribution using fourier’s series - allows for a compact computer coding and easier input data. The series converges to the idealized values obtained using a bilinear material curve as the number of terms in the series increases.
