Abstract

Contributors to employee productivity problems are due to uncomfortable physical environment factors including parking facilities that affect an employee's productivity. Several studies have found that the physical condition of the environment contributes almost 20 percent of employee productivity and the uncomfortable physical environment has a negative impact on employees. This study aimed to find out the relationship of parking characteristics with factors affecting the productivity of government servants in the Federal Government Administrative Complex Sabah (KPKPS) building. The characteristics of parking facilities include time value, parking price, walking distance to destination, parking time and duration, while factors influencing productivity include job satisfaction, commitment, motivation and job performance. Data were collected through questionnaires from 205 government servants at KPKPS involving 25 departments. This study uses descriptive methods of frequency, mean value, factor analysis and cross table analysis. The results of the study found that the factors of job satisfaction, motivation and job performance have a high level of relationship with the characteristics of TLK, while the commitment factors are at a moderate level. Through the factor analysis of the results of the study found that there are three factors that are formed, namely proactive factors, focus and performance and found that the support group is more influenced by proactive factors. The results of this study can benefit employers, civil servants and managers to increase employee productivity by providing parking facilities services that meet the needs. In addition, it contributes to the development of facilities management knowledge.
