Abstract

Growth of multimedia technology is getting high in our education system. The interactive learning enviroment hepls teacher to enhance their teaching and learning process. Use of multimedia courseware as a teaching aids help to make the teaching and learning process more efective. Hence, the objectives of this study are to develop a multimedia courseware for helping students in electrochemistry, to get students’ feedback on the learning using courseware and feedback from chemistry eachers feedback on the use of multimedia courseware among students. 50 form 4 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Desa Skudai, Johor Bahru are chosen randomly as sample in this study. The instument used are questionnaire and interview with chemistry teacher. Both, qualitative and quantitative data were collected in this study. Quantitative data is analyzed by getting the mean and percentage while qualitative is by producing the conclusion from the interview. For qualitative data, the items were divided into five construct which are students perception towards motivation in using the courseware, suitability of the interface design, suitability of the interaction design, courseware helps in learning of the topic and comfort and convenience in using the courseware. The mean for students perception towards motivation in sung the courseware is 3.73, suitability of the interface design is 3.85, suitability in interaction design is 3.95, courseware helps in learning of the topic is 3.74 and the comfort and convenience in using the courseware is 4.02. Based on the overall mean, students gave a positive perception in using the ElectroChem courseware.
