Abstract

Employers are focusing more on having employees with great personalities and skills which enable them to become a creative, competitive and productive member of the company. This study is meant to identify various personalities of the graduates, technical skills and their employability a year upon graduating. Qualitative research design was selected, where the data was collected through interview sessions with five respondents who were graduating with education background, and re currently employed. There were three main sections of arguments analysed through this study, namely personalities, types of expected technical skills from employers and the employability of graduates in other than industries related to their courses. Thematic analysis was conducted and the findings show that the personalities which are needed the most by these graduates include internal personalities (behavioral etiquette and social skills) and external personalities (physical appearance) of the graduates. Furthermore, other qualities such as technical skills and soft skills are essential to cater the demands by the employer in professional practice.
