Abstract

The tourism industry is an important sector for the country. This is because the industry contributes a lot of revenue and return to a country in terms of national income. The prime factor of tourist arrivals to Malaysia is the privilege of an attractive places that have in this country. 37% of foreign tourists come to our country because of that interesting places. This research focuses on the use of information technology and smart phone applications connected historic buildings in Malaysia. Nowadays, everybody uses information technology to make their live easier. The trend in today's society is more focused on the use of tablet computers and smart phone applications to stimulate the development of applications related to historic buildings. Thus, an application Histourism Malaysia has developed to provide information of historic buildings to replace the use of encyclopedias and books. Tourism Historic Places's Applications in Malaysia was developed to facilitate the tourists from within the country and abroad to go to historical places in Malaysia. Moreover, to facilitate the tourists to find places of historical interest as well as other nearby hotels or homestay accommodation. In Histourism Malaysia application also has detail historical information as well as the photographs of buildings that have aesthetic values.
