Abstract
Electromagnetic (EM) waves in the range of microwave has been widely applied for microwave hyperthermia. In order to design microwave applicators effectively, data of propagation constants such as attenuation and phase constants of human tissues should be clarified. In this paper, investigation of EM waves propagation into lossy human tissues is calculated. Universal charts showing dependencies of attenuation and phase constants on human tissue electrical constants such as dielectric constant and conductivity are obtained based on theoretical propagation equation. The universal charts of microwave propagation at 433MHz, 915MHz and 2450MHz into the lossy human tissues are shown.
