Abstract

In this study, the bond behaviour of deformed steel bar diameter embedded in different concrete grades and concrete fiber was investigated. Deformed steel bars of 16 and 20 mm diameter were constantly embedded at a depth of 65 mm in cylinder specimens. The pullout loads, bond strength, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and flexural strength of the specimens were determined. It was found that the bond strength between deformed steel bar and concrete was increased parallel to the increase of mechanical properties of the concrete. It was demonstrated that the deformed steel bar with concrete fiber provides higher bond strength compared to bond with other concrete grades. Therefore the use of concrete fiber is suitable for structural deformability resistance.
