Tabarruj is the current phenomenon when women are exaggerated by revealing their body parts and jewellery in front of non-mahram men. This phenomenon is increasingly worrying among Muslim teachers who are civil servants in Malaysia. The objective of this study are to examine the tabarruj phenomenon in terms of perception, understanding and practice of Muslim women who serve as teachers in Sabak Bernam District. The study also aims to identify the factors that persuade Muslim teachers in the Sabak Bernam District to practice tabarruj during work, identify the differences of tabarruj practices based on the demographic background and lastly examine the relationship between perceptions and tabarruj practices among them. Quantitaive method has been used in this study. The data were collected and recorded for analysis purposes using IBM SPSS 20.0 software to obtain the frequency, percentage and mean value of each question item given to 215 respondents. The results of this study showed that Muslim teachers recorded a high level of perception with a mean value of 2.83. Likewise, the understanding of tabarruj is high with a mean value of 3.58, while their tabarruj practice are at a moderate level with a mean value of 1.7 and their factor was 1.98. The data also showed no significant difference between tabarruj practices among Muslim women teacher based on demographic background in terms of age, teaching experience, income and specialisation of the respondents. However, the study found that there was a significant relationship between perceptions and tabarruj practices among Muslim women teachers in the Sabak Bernam District.
