However, the awareness in respecting the mushaf among Muslim community is more focused on the new mushaf. The main objective of this study is to identify the compliance level of the Muslim community on the methods of disposal of the mushaf according to Islamic law, to identify factors that affect the level of compliance, to identify disposal practices carried out by the implementing agencies and to analyze the challenges faced by the implementing agencies in carrying out the disposal of the Quran in Malaysia. This study applied quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings of the survey found that the level of compliance with of the Muslim community regarding disposal methods of the mushaf are in line with Shariah and is moderately high. Five factors that affect the level of compliance are namely the solution (P), risk (R), the disposal process (PP), culture and awareness (PK) and financial resources (SK). The study also discovered that tools used to dispose the mushaf are through burning using incinerators, furnaces, portable drum machine and barrel. Furthermore, the study showed six major challenges faced by the implementing agencies are namely, the high-cost of management, special disposal place, fuel, disposal period, enforcement and labour. It is hoped that the findings of the study will raise the awareness of the Muslim community regarding the importance of maintaining the dignity of the mushaf with regards to disposal management.
