Abstract
This study was conducted to assess the level of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among flood victims in Kelantan. A total of 262 respondents from the districts of Gua Musang and Kuala Krai in Kelantan were selected by the simple random sampling technique. A PTSD questionnaire developed by Faizah et al., (2015) was used to gauge the respondents' PTSD levels. Demographics of the respondents showed that a majority, 35.9%, were aged between 30-49 years. In addition, 54.2% were unemployed and had no income, while 55.7% had low education levels. The findings showed that 42% of the respondents experienced symptoms of PTSD, with 29% of females suffering from the disorder, compared to 13.4% males. Additionally, the study also showed that 8% of respondents aged 30-49 years experienced a high level of PTSD, while 12.6% of respondents with low educational backgrounds were more likely to suffer from a high level of PTSD. The findings also showed that 8% of the respondents who were unemployed and with no income were more likely to suffer from a high level of PTSD.
