Abstract
Sport programme is organised to enhance self-development in youths by way of a set of skills transferrable to their daily life. This qualitative study was conducted with sport coordinators to identify the role of sport (1M1S - Satu Murid Satu Sukan) in school settings as a way to inculcate life skills in youth. The participating sport coordinators have reported that sport activities in schools (1M1S) provide a suitable setting for the cultivation of life skills. The findings are discussed based on frameworks by Petitpas, Cornelius, Van Raalte, and Jones (2005), which are based on contexts, as well as the external and internal assets.
