Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has led to changes in the education sector. The current environment has become a major challenge for higher education where the data must be updated and accurate. To remain competitive, organizations need to maximize the use of technology to the highest level. Therefore, business intelligence (BI) has provides the elements for decision making. The element is used to generate effective management, forecasts of future results, and solutions to improve organizational performance. In order to implement BI in organizations, a framework should be proposed before developing a prototype. However, to develop a framework that fits with business intelligence in higher education, it is important to take into account the necessary components. There are several existing BI framework that can be used according to the structure since the layer, components, and processes are difference depends on the reasons of implementation. Therefore, an analysis of the important layers, components, and processes to develop a framework will be discussed in this paper.
