Abstract

The life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology used to assess the environmental impact of IBS frames over 100 years in Malaysia. Quantifying the use of energy and material resources during the life cycle allow the assessment of future changes in the environment (climate change, acidification and ozone depletion). Two different IBS unites have chosen to be evaluated which included precast concrete and prefabricate Timber. The research demonstrates that the resident with the timber frame system has a less negative impact on the environment. This research accomplished with Recipe Endpoint (E) method which comprises seventeen impact categories for the interpretation of results. The main purpose of this project is a consideration the effect of IBS frames on human health, ecosystem and resources and emissions released to the environment by those building from the initial phase of construction to demolish of the building.
