Keberkesanan fungsi bandar penawar sebagai bandar perkhidmatan pelancongan

Abstract

This study is about an evaluation of the function Bandar Penawar as the tourism service town. The aim of this study is to identify the function of the service town. In order to achieve the aim of this study, qualitative and quantitative approach has been used. The researcher has carried out questionnaires to the tourist at Tg Balau Beach, Lotus Desaru Beach Resort, Pulai Desaru Beach Resort & Spa and Bandar Penawar Information Center. Four safety attributes were tested to tourists in order to identify their expectation and perception toward the effectiveness of the facilities provided. Their feedback has been analyzed in Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) to know the mean of each attributes. The result showed that entertainment facilities, food and internet services were the important factors to the tourists. Apart from that, four groups of stakeholders, Lembaga Kemajuan Johor Tenggara (KEJORA) management team, Hotel and Resort Owners, Transport Operators, and Restaurant Owners were interviewed based on the theme of perception, willingness, ability, desire and will. On overall, each and everyone is looking forward for a better improvement in tourist flow to Bandar Penawar as a result of surrounding mega developments. In addition, the researcher has also proposed several recommendations to improve the service in Bandar Penawar such as Exotic Seafood Center, Local Craft Center, Travel Agents and Tour Guides, Cultural Village and International Hospitality and Beauty College. Hopefully, these recommendations will help KEJORA to improve the function of Bandar Penawar as a tourism service town.
