Abstract

More and more countries and regions are focusing on environmental issues, such as carbon emissions, in order to ensure sustainable development. Meanwhile, the construction industry generates 39% of all carbon emissions, and this sector generates 30% to 40% of all solid waste. Therefore, recycling construction waste promotes not only sustainable development of materials but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions. In order to identify the future research focus, it is necessary to review the literature in this field, analyze and summarize research contents and directions, and discover the research gaps. In this study, CiteSpace is used as the analysis software, and the basic data is 2430 publications from WoS and Scopus which are concerning construction waste reuse. The results show that China has the largest number of publications in the field, and United States has the greatest centrality. There are 23 core authors in the field, but there needs to be more connection among them. Analysis of the keywords and clusters reveals the critical issues that scholars seek to address. Furthermore, through the burst keywords analysis, "circular economy"is the most recent and strongest keyword in this field. Finally, the research shortcomings and the future trends of research are discussed. Scholars should continue to focus on the circular economy and the emission reduction effect of construction waste reuse.
