The internationalization of Born Globals business schools: A conceptual framework

Abstract

In responding to contemporary emerging trends of the globalization, this paper aims at introducing a new insight to be added to the previous studies in the literature review in the field of educational management. To be a new research, this study provides new thoughts compared to existing literature, it explores the Born Global and Uppsala theories of internationalization and its feasibility to examine Born Global in the internationalization of business schools. It also provides new insights on how the Born Global model of internationalization allows the influence of other elements to benefit the internationalization process in business schools. Many business schools failed in achieving their internationalization delivery and unable to translate the knowledge they produce into the emerging world knowledge economy. As the world is said to be undergoing a change of education due to the impression of internationalization, there is an urge for business schools to revamp their curriculum and programs to keep pace with global economic transformation as well as to equip business graduates with the 21st century skills demands. This new insight created by the current studies offers conceptual framework of the business schools internationalization process on Born Global perspectives, which has the potential contributions towards reaching internationalization goals and enhancing better quality of business school's education.
