Abstract
In this challenging era, Islamic Education has become an important and compulsory education for all school levels especially for Muslim pupils. However, there is less emphasis on Islamic Education to Muslim pupils in Chinese National Type Schools. This worries the researcher on the Islamic Education among Muslim pupils especially in Chinese National Type Schools. Therefore, the aims of this study are to investigate and identify the practice of reciting and memorizing verses of al-Quran among the Muslim pupils. It involved nine pupils who were from three different Chinese National Type Schools. Interviews were conducted and were supported by the analysis of data through observation during the data collection. This study used N‟Vivo 11 for further analysis. The results showed that the Muslim pupils were able to recite and memorize the simple verses that were learnt in school. However, the numbers of the Muslim pupils who recite and memorized the verses from al-Quran in school were still at a low level. A thorough observation should be conducted to ensure the Muslim pupils to be persevere more in reciting and memorizing al-Quran in their daily life routines.
