Jawi teaching practicehas greatly influenced Jawi reading and writingproficiency as well as Islamic Studies content indirectly. However, the study revealedthat Jawi proficiency among students was still low and it was caused by ineffective teaching of Islamic Studies teachers. This study is a quantitative research using descriptive statistics such as percentage and mean score to report the findings. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was conducted on 30 Islamic Studies teachers in Jasin district who were the sample of this research. The results showed that the overall mean score for Jawiteaching practice of Islamic Studies teachers was moderate (mean =3.344). The mean score for delivery method (mean =3.385), content acquisition (mean =3.013), students' participation (mean =3.650) and teaching professionalism practice (mean =3.033). In conclusion, the overall quality of Jawiteaching practice of Islamic Studies teachers was only at a medium level and it still has not been able to fulfill the requirements of the Philosophy of Education.
