Abstract

A system of the chaotic signal generation known as a PANDA ring resonator is presented. Using resonant conditions, the intense chaotic signals can be generated and propagated within a Kerr type nonlinear medium. Simulated results show that the chaotic signals can be controlled by using additional Gaussian pulses inputted into the add port of the PANDA system. For the soliton pulse in the microring device, a balance should be achieved between dispersion and nonlinear lengths. Chaotic output signals from the PANDA ring resonator are converted to logic codes then inserted into an optical fiber optic transmission link with a length of 180 km in order to perform the transmission process. The transmitted signals in the form of spatial and temporal solitons can be detected at the end of the transmission link. In this work spatial and temporal solitons with Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) of 0.8 pm and 60 ps are generated, respectively, where the Gaussian pulses with a central wavelength of 1.55 μrn and powers of 0.6 W are input into the system.
