Abstract
Development of normaltive gait database catered for specific demographics are important to provide reference database to distinguish between normal and pathological gait parameters. In this project, an instrumented treadmill system was utilized to collect spatio-temporal parameters, and the Vertical Ground Reaction Forces (VGRFs) of Malaysian university students. Two (2) different movement were recorded, namely walking and running. In the initial findings of this study revealed that selected gait parameters were in agreement with published data available. It is anticipated that such database will be expended to cover more test subjects of different ethnicities to serve as reference database for human gait analysis in Malaysian context specifically, and the Asian context in general.
