Abstract
The use of flexible materials such as textile, vinyl and flexible polymer as a substrate for designing wearable antenna are becoming very popular. As the antennas are easily exposed to mechanical deformation while being worn by users, the necessity to measure and analyze the effect of the antenna deformation towards the antenna performance and electromagnetic (EM) energy absorbed by the body are increasing. Therefore, the bending effect of dual-band dipole textile antenna is investigated by means of CST Microwave Studio. Results clearly show SAR enhancement of up to 115.2 % and 55.86 % for 1st and 2nd band operating frequency respectively when the antenna is bent.
