Abstract
Free space optical communication (FSO) has a long history, which communicates directly through the atmosphere, in a line of sight transmission by a set of transmission and receiver at both ends. Nowadays FSO is used as a fast and easy way of implementing solution for broadband communication. But there are factors including weather and distance that have an adverse effect on the transmission quality and performance of FSO system. Here we use an Optisystem simulation to measure the performance of FSO in Haze weather condition in Malaysia with various distances from 30meter to 1.5 Kilometer. The calculation provides good results in FSO communication in this weather of the maximum 1 BER is calculated for a distance of 1500m with a transmission power loss of -34.42 dBm.
