Abstract
Information and communication technology has the ability to achieve adequacy and efficiency of organizations business processes. The majority of the organizations in Iraq stay in a traditional form, and all of their processes are executed manually, in addition to lack of clarity of work procedures and exposure a lot of information to loss and damage as a result of the U.S. occupation of Iraq. This situation especially in universities and institutes leads to waste time, lack in precision in the labour, insufficient limpidity and liability in many aspects such as the process of registration, process of attendance, process of accepting, process of absence and process of grades. This research tries to fill this gap by applying business process improvement to redesign and improve some of current business processes of one of Islamic institutes in Iraq. One institute in Iraq “Baghdad Islamic Institute” selected as a case study for this research. In this research, data collected from that institute and data analyzed and draw by Enterprise Architect with Unified Modeling Language UML 2.1. From this knowledge, researcher propose redesign activities for Baghdad Islamic Institute.The design science research methodology or DSRM is used to achieve the study leading to develop a new hybrid business process improvement model, which is implemented soundly
