Abstract

This research aims to explore the management and administration of Hidayah Islamic Boarding School (SMIH). In particular this research would like to review the students' perception of infrastructure management, catering management and the management of welfare hostels. Studies were conducted to identify the main goal SMIH boarding establishment and the difficulties in management and administration systems. Financial management and administration system has also studied for the financial aspect which is important in every organization. The sample consists of 99 students and 3 dormitories SMIH hostel management consisting of the school principal, head of hostel wardens and supervisors. This study uses a mixed methods research design (mixed-methods research design) that combines quantitative and qualitative forms. Questionnaires were used to obtain quantitative data and interview possible to obtain qualitative data. The findings showed that perceptions of student hostel to hostel infrastructure maintenance, administrative and financial management of the hostel are high and food preparation and management of student welfare was at a moderate level. In an effort to bring direction and goals of the hostel, the hostel management available to the vision held dormitory other than to make the hostel as an agent of change and an agent to call. The study also found the hostel management has a problem in terms of financial management, facilities and problems with suppliers dorm food. The study also found SMIH hostel has no monetary policy, all resolutions and financial decisions are made based on the results of meetings of the board or management of the school. School Bursar just keep savings accounts hostel, but the budget is managed by the chief warden of the hostel and dormitory supervisor under the supervision or approval of the principal.
