Abstract

The main objective of this survey is to evaluate the action and leadership style of a Student Affairs Senior Assistance Teacher of a school in the district of Pontian. It will also identify whether his/her action and leadership style has the similiarity in either one, two or all four guidelines stated by Bolman and Deal (2003). Samples are selected from the Discipline and Counselling teachers of school in Pontian. The main objective for choosing these samples is to evaluate the survey and this is being made by a Discipline and Counselling teacher. Datas from questionaires that are being arranged as a survey instrument are collected and compiled. From the result gathered, it clearly shows the action and leadership of the Student Affairs Senior Assistance Teacher complies with at least two out four Bolman’s and Deal’s guidelines. Disciplinary management level and its procedures are also being identified. From the element aspects the survey shows that a high level of disciplinary management has been achieved. This survey is intended to be use as guideline to all those involve with the disciplinary management in the future to ensure all implementations will result in schools with high qualities and visions. Additional proposals and recommendations for future surveys are included with the intention for more improvements. The other method used in this survey was the personal interviews to gauge the level of assistance and cooperations given by the other teachers towards the Senior Assistance teacher. Four Student Affairs Senior Assistance teacher were being identified. Good response and cooperations were received by the Senior Assistance teacher. As for the training subject, result from the survey indicated that the Senior Assistance teacher is lacking in the students affairs training and should be given more chances. Finally results from the survey are hope to be as a guideline in the future to all those concern in order to achieve school with high visions and qualities.
