Abstract

Teaching and learning is a very important process in conveying knowledge and information to students. No matter what field of teaching, teaching methods and approaches purposely to help teachers in providing effective instruction. In this study, TVE teaching skills measured by the application of the 5 E’s teaching element which are engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration and evaluation. Applying each of the elements focused on the induction teaching session,activities session (middle session) and closing session. The study involved TVE teachers in four secondary technical and vocational schools in Johor Bahru which includes 90 respondents. Questionnaires used are referring of two parts which section A refers to the demographic variables and section B refers to the application of element 5 E during induction teaching sessions, activities session and also closing session. Data were analysed using SPSS, and descriptive data analysis compute in the form of percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study refer to the teaching of TVE teachers in applying the element 5 E for each teaching session.
