Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the values of virtue which is practices and applied in KBSM (Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Menengah) among students in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Johor Bahru, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Penggawa Timur and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Nusa Damai, Pasir Gudang. The finding focused on 3 aspects; which is type, level and factors that influence the practices in value. of virtue. Descriptive method was used in this study. There are 297 Form Four students from this three schools were selected as samples for this study. Questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The value of reliability for this study instrument was α = 0.814. The data were analyzed by using SPSS software. The results from the data analysis were presented by using descriptive statistical method which compares the percentage with the total amount of the respondents. Min values also were used to clarifying the level of practices in good value. From this study, it was found that majority respondents were always practices value of virtue in their daily life. In details, respondents in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang was highly practicing the neighbourhood spirit with min value of 4.23. Meanwhile, for Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Penggawa Timur, Masai, the respondents were always practicing fair, clean, brave, moderate, sincerity, hardworking, rational, mental & physical cleanliness, gratitude and cooperation spirit. Respondents in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Nusa Damai, Pasir Gudang were found that always practicing sincerity, hardworking, rational, Mental & Physical Cleanliness, gratitude and cooperation spirit. All respondents from this three schools also had the high level in practicing the value except for 2 values which is fair and independent. From the study also was found that majority of the respondents were influenced by family, followed by peers in their practice of value of virtue.
