Abstract
The heart of speaker recognition system is feature extraction. Since this phase is the first component in the speaker recognition chain, the quality of this stage will strongly affect the quality of other components (speaker modeling and pattern matching). This paper provides a literature review and discussion of fundamental issue, popular techniques used in several years as well as the recent proposed techniques for feature extraction in speaker recognition system.
