Abstract

Loneliness is the painful feeling of wanting more human contact or connection than you have. the stereotype of the lonely person is a socially inept loser who doesn’t know how to get along with others who perhaps has little to offer other people, who has few or no friends and who spends much of the time alone, perhaps envying other people who have friends and lovers- but recent research has begun to paint a very different picture.
