Abstract
Sky color is the basic thing that we need to model in virtual environment because it is the main contributor to the appearance of the entire atmosphere. The fundamental of rendering atmospheric phenomena have been known in the fields of atmospheric optics and meteorology for many years. An atmospheric phenomenon includes cloud, rainbow, halos and other effects that appear in the atmosphere. The visual portrayal of the sky is a common requirement in computer graphics when rendering outdoor scenes. Most of the illumination of outdoor scenes comes directly from the sun and the sky. Furthermore, the distances involved also contribute the effects of visible air. Realism is one of the main factors, which is often singled out in computer graphics. The success of visual simulation depends on it. An outdoor scene shows as a landscape gives different sense of realism with sky color effects. Previous Work Numerous computer graphics researchers have tried to simulate the atmospheric effect of the sky. Many of them have simulated the light from the sky and the sun by considering the scattering and absorption of the light in the earth’s atmosphere.
