Abstract
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an educational approach that is learner focused. The focus shifts from a method of instruction that is teacher driven and led to one where the student is empowered to conduct self-directed learning. The learner is mentored and encouraged to conduct research, integrate what is learned, and apply that learning to develop a viable solution to an ill-defined problem.
