Abstract
An approach for component-based embedded software development in autonomous mobile robots system is proposed. The approach is a programming framework based on the PErvasive COmponent Systems (PECOS) component model. The main features of this approach are: use graphical representation for components definition and composition; target C language for optimal code generation with resource-constrained microcontroller; and minimal requirement for run-time support. Realtime implementation indicates that, the PECOS component model together with the proposed programming framework is suitable for resource constrained autonomous mobile robots embedded software development.
