Abstract
The advances in Information and Communication (ICT) and the need to perform efficiently have bought both advantages and disadvantages to the well-being of employees. The situation is further aggravated by the Covid-19 outbreak and the recent company downsizing trend. This persistent high level of anxiety may cause employees to become physically and mentally exhausted, which leads to sickness presenteeism and negative effect on employees’ psychological wellbeing. Hence, the aim of this paper is to examine and establish a link between time pressure, constant connectivity, sickness presenteeism, and employees’ psychological wellbeing. Results show that time pressure is positively related to sickness presenteeism and sickness presenteeism is negatively related to employees’ psychological well-being. The result was then discussed and this research also proposed future studies to empirically examine the proposed relationship discussed in this paper.
