Abstract
Selecting a target object that is obscured by another virtual object is one of the remaining issues that are difficult to be precisely performed in Augmented Reality (AR). The conventional way of interaction using handheld devices which is by the touchscreen metaphor, often comes with issue of user's fat finger, leading to incorrect selection for interaction. Other than that, to perform selection on occluded target object is difficult as the available surface area for selection is smaller. Therefore to overcome the issues, we propose an to implement raycasting method for selection on occluded object by using hand gesture in handheld AR. We describes the process of designing the propose interaction for selection on occluded target object in handheld AR. This paper ends with a conclusion with the future works recommendation.
