Abstract

With almost 140 000 retail businesses in Australia that accounting for 4.1 per cent of GDP and 10.7 per cent of employment, the retail industry is one of Australia's largest industries, but it is also deemed as one of the most volatile sector. This instability is reflected in the increasing turnover intention rate of the retail industry year by year. This paper strived to propose a conceptual model for an action research, which strives to examine the factor that determining employees' turnover intention in a milk powder company in Australia, namely Company Z. Mixed-method research design has been proposed, in which self-administered survey will be employed for the quantitative design, and coupled with an in-depth interview to be performed for qualitative part of the study. The proposed data analysis tools to be IBM-Statistical Software for Social Science and Nvivo.
