Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study positive andnegative factors that can substantially explain mobile commerce(m-commerce) acceptance in Malaysia. A technology acceptancemodel for m-commerce with eights factors is constructed. Datacollected from 400 respondents are being tested on the proposedmodel. Confirmatory factor analysis is performed to test thereliability and validity of the model and structural equationmodelling is performed to access the relationship betweenbehavior intention and each factor. The acceptance ofm-commerce is influenced by factors including performanceexpectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitatingconditions, Mobility, Personal Innovation, Perceived Trust anduse behavior; while Perceived risk is insignificant in this case Theresults of this study are useful for m-commerce providers inadapting their m-commerce promotion strategy. This studycontributes to the practice by providing a model for m-commerceuser technology acceptance, which can be used as the basis forfuture investigations.
