Abstract

This study is conducted to investigate the level of teacher’s satisfaction toward the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) among Malaysian teachers. In addition, this study also aims to explore the hindrance factors and the suggestions to improve teachers’ satisfaction. Using concurrent embedded mixed methods design, both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered from 643 users and 41 non-users of VLE. The overall mean score of teacher’s satisfaction toward VLE is 3.83 or at the moderate level. Furthermore, the content analysis of two open-ended questions has produced five hindrance factors and four suggestions to improve teachers’ satisfaction and increase the use of VLE. The moderate level of satisfaction among teachers signifies that further remedial actions are necessary to avoid system abandonment. Therefore, these hindrance factors and suggestions are worth to be considered by VLE stakeholders and future researchers.
