Abstract

Computer games are very popular especially among younger generations. Research in computer games for educational setting has gain lots of attention particularly in this new millennium. ECG has been associated with fun, motivated and engaging - crucial factors for learning efficiency. Past studies have shown that ECG provides lots of learning effectiveness among students. ECG is rather new learning paradigm in Malaysia, however few local research have proved that Malaysian students are very interested towards computer games, whether for fun or learning. Based on that matter, it is worth to study how ECG can benefit our students and our education as a whole. This paper will discuss on i) why ECG for learning ii) reviewed of past research iii) the prospect of deploying ECG in Malaysia. This paper will review, analyze and compare previous research on educational games. Finding from the review suggest that games have lot of potential in our education systems, most of our student interested and involved in gaming activities and by having the right approach, we definitely can apply this new learning paradigm among our students. Hopefully, it will initiate interest among teachers and researchers in using games within our education system
