Abstract
This paper describes the integration of amplifier at the inset feed between transmission line and microstrip antenna. The performance of this configurations have been investigated and compared in terms of bandwidth, gain relative to a passive antenna, cross polar isolation and beamwidth. The same microstrip antenna without amplifier has been designed and compared with the active integrated antenna. The active antenna has performeda good input return loss bandwidth The bandwidth is almost double from the passive element. The gain of the antenna has been increased to 10 dB and the cross polar isolation of the active and passive is comparable.
