Abstract

The gold (Au)/cinnamon (Ci) nanocomposite particles (Au-Ci NCPs) were prepared via the pulse laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) technique to customize their fluorescence (FL) characteristics. The morphology, structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of these NCPs were determined. These ultra-sensitive NCPs (organic-inorganic) with the large surface area revealed a significant fluorescence enhancement and improved surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption. The PL spectra of the NCPs showed a prominent stable peak at 436.95 nm with FWHM≈52.87 nm. The observed improvement in the optical properties and chemical structure of the synthesised NCPs are affirmed to be greatly favorable for biomedical applications. Compared to the conventional synthetic drugs, the proposed nontoxic, chemically inert and eco-friendly NCPs with improved FL attributes are expected to be beneficial towards the Au-Ci NCPs enhanced FL-based drug developments.
