Abstract

In this paper, we propose a plasmonic circuit based on optical add-drop multiplexer. A stack of silicon–graphene–gold layers is used at optical add-drop filter ends. The light input from a laser source at the silicon base of the stack enables ultrafast electrical switching by rapid light-electron energy conversion. It allows feedback signals monitoring by the output mobility visibility, which is useful for system control. Certain results show ultra-fast switching time of ~5.0 fs at a stable power of 3 mW. The results further demonstrate great avenues for the secured communication channel-based on the plasmonic electronic circuit.
