Abstract
The increasing development especially in the agriculture and forest area is a major contribution to the increasing problems of landslide and soil loss in this world. The aim of this study is to analyse the landslide and soil loss as related to land cover changes in Perlis. The data obtained for this study are DEM (Digital Elevation Model), soil properties, rainfall intensity, land use and road. The potential of landslide is determined by using LandslideSim. Meanwhile, the area of soil loss was analysed by using weightage linear combination (WLC). There were three factors that have been used to analyse the landslide potential which are DEM, soil properties, and rainfall intensity. The area of soil loss is dependent on four factors which are slope, stream, road, vegetation area, and built area. Correlation analysis was employed to identify the relationship between land use and soil loss.
