Abstract

This review is to determine elements and impacts of informal Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education on students aged 10 to 14. The guiding questions are: (1) what are the primary focus of informal STEM education? (2) what are the impacts of informal STEM education? The review shows that informal STEM education with structured content has created positive impacts on students’ attitude and achievement towards STEM subjects. Specific suggestions to improve informal STEM education are provided.
