Abstract
The process of shaping a holistic individual starts from early childhood education or more precisely during preschool years. Indeed, the earlier a child receives proper education, the faster the child can absorb knowledge. In addition, children nowadays are exposed to gadgets and technology in their daily activities. Thus, this study discusses on issues and future trends in preschool learning, including the use of learning tools to support the teaching and learning process. Specifically, this study will focus on issues related to language subject which consists of literacy skills, such as reading and writing. These data were collected through interviews among senior preschool teachers and was analysed using thematic analysis. This study identified three issues, which are literacy, learning tools and learning approach with the intention to rectify this problem thus enabling children to master the basic skills of literacy during preschool years. Eventually, these issues led us to identify the future trends of technological tools that can visualize a learning subject as real in classroom learning session. Therefore, this study will provide valuable insight for educators to integrate technology as a visualisation tool in order to support the existing learning tools in preschool children’s learning.
