Abstract

CBOS is a critical government authority that responsible for supporting monetary and financial stability of banking system in consistent with the volume of economic activity in Sudan. Through the transaction, it stores important data that needs to be protected from any kind of security breach such as data theft, espionage, sabotage, information leakage and so on. Such threats could start from the weakness of physical security controls which lead to more severe impact that could cause service disruption and integrity of information can be disputed. In this study, an evaluation of the effectiveness of current physical security of the perimeter protection and access control in CBOS was conducted. The study was conducted through online surveys, observations and interviews with respective officers. Answers and feedback obtained were analyzed to give recommendations for physical security enhancement that might be considered by top management of CBOS. The results of this study could also be a reference to the other front-line agencies to look at same approaches that can be adopted.
