Abstract

These days, many hospitals use remote patient monitoring system to monitor their patients. This would not only save patients’ time to travel to the hospital, but hospital clinicians would be able to monitor their patients’ health status consistently even from home. Besides, usage of electronic medical records (EMR) system to store patient’s record can save more space and cost for the system. However, protecting and securing the privacy of electronic medical records has become a challenge as the data can be accessed by unauthorized people. Therefore, enhancement on data privacy can be done using AES algorithm and this paper proposed on how to secure the sharing of patients’ records using an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) method.
